Flin Flon Fire Chief Jason Kuras advises there is a fire ban in the Flin Flon area.  He explains basically there’s no open burning being allowed in the area of Flin Flon and surrounding areas all the way through the north.  He adds there’ll be no unnecessary ATV travel so if you require going to your remote cabin you’ll need to ask for a permit from the Conservation office and other than that people are just encouraged to be very mindful of open fire, not to have them and make sure they’re very careful wherever they go.

Kuras adds it’s very dry across the north including this area so the ban is in place to eliminate human causes of fire that can quickly get out of control.
