Funding is Being Provided for Indigenous and Northern Organizations.

The Manitoba government is investing three million dollars toward Indigenous and northern organizations. The funding is to support key services provided for Indigenous and northern people in Manitoba.  Organizations funded that directly affect the northern area include just under 1.6 million dollars to the Manitoba Association of Friendship Centres, 325 thousand to the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, 268 thousand to the Manitoba Metis Federation,  263 thousand to the Northern Association of Community Councils and 100 thousand to Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak.

             

Indigenous and Northern Relations Minister Eileen Clarke notes the activities of the organizations foster positive and respectful relationships with Indigenous people and northern communities.
