New Case Counts Have Gone Up a Bit in Manitoba Health Regions and Are up in One Zone in Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 81 net new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 5.4 percent.  They also reported three new deaths with one each in the Northern, Southern and Winnipeg health regions.  Of the new cases 39 were in Winnipeg, 16 in Interlake Eastern, 11 in Northern and 10 each in Prairie Mountain and Southern health regions. Of the total 56,667 reported cases 1016 are active, 54,494 people have recovered and 137 are in hospital with 34 in intensive care along with five who are in care in Ontario.   

        

Meanwhile Saskatchewan health reported 113 new cases bringing the seven day average of new cases to 42.  They reported no new deaths.  Of the new cases 58 were in the Far North East, 16 in Saskatoon and 12 in Regina with lower numbers in other zones.  The rise in cases is due largely to the ongoing outbreak in the Hatchet Lake area.  Of the total 49,152 reported cases 415 are considered active, 48,167 people have recovered and 62 are in hospital with 11 in intensive care.
