New Case Numbers are Still Low in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported only 34 net new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 5.9 percent.  They also reported one new death in the Southern health region.  Of the new cases 24 were in the Winnipeg region with low single numbers in other regions including two in Northern health. Of the total 56,516 reported cases 972 are active, 54,392 individuals have recovered and 149 are in hospital with 36 in intensive care along with six in care outside the province.  There are five active cases reported in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district.  A total of 15,772 variants of concern cases have been reported in the province with 598 of them active.

             

Meanwhile Saskatchewan health reported 14 new cases bringing the seven day average of new cases to 28.  They reported one new death in the North West zone.  All zones reported new cases in the low single digits with Far North East reporting none.  Of the total48, 992 reported cases 313 are considered active, 48,110 people have recovered and 62 are in hospital with ten in intensive care.  There are27 active cases in Far North East.  A total of 12,212 variants of concern have been reported so far in the province.
