People Walked With Lights Down Main Street Thursday Night.

A candle light vigil and walk was held Thursday night under the theme Every Child Matters Bring Our Children Home.  Organizer Margaret Head Steppan as they gathered at Neighbors of the North Park stated they walk to light up the way to bring our children home.  She explained the message they are trying to relay is the children that they found in the residential schools are important and they need to be brought home to their home communities and laid to rest so they can be at peace and the vigil is walking to honor them and to shine a light on what they never had.  She added they just want to be here in solidarity as Indigenous people and people that support us.

Walkers carrying solar powered lights made their way down Main Street to Pioneer Square where a vigil was held with the Northern Lights Singers and Drummers.
