Case Numbers go Down as Vaccine Numbers Climb in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan health reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the seven day average of new cases to 43.  They reported no new deaths.  All zones reported new cases in the low single digits.  Of the total 48,771 reported cases 468 are considered active and 47,737 people have recovered with 76 in hospital and 13 in intensive care.

They note declining case numbers are a significant indicator that vaccination efforts are having an impact in the province.  In order to further reduce transmission now and through the remainder of 2021 residents are still encouraged to get their first and second doses of the vaccine.  Seventy percent of those 12 and over have already received their first dose.
