Reported Cases Approach 56 Thousand in Manitoba While New Cases Reach the Average in Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 198 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend bringing the five day test positivity rate to 6.5 percent.  They also reported four deaths with three in Winnipeg region and one in Interlake Eastern.  Of the new cases 99 were in Winnipeg region with lower numbers in other regions including 34 in both Southern and Northern health.  Of the total 55,975 reported cases 1480 are active and 53,356 individuals have recovered with 181 in hospital and 52 in intensive care along with 12 in care outside the province. There are ten active cases reported in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district.

             

Meanwhile Saskatchewan health reported 48 new cases over the weekend bringing the seven day average of new cases to 48.  They also reported one death in the Regina zone.  All zones reported new cases in single digits including five in Far North East.  Of the total 48,754 reported cases 549 are considered active and 47,639 have recovered with 77 in hospital and ten in intensive care. There are 22 active cases reported in the Far North East zone.
