Manitoba has Announced a Reopening and Vaccination Program

Premier Brian Pallister has introduced a 30 million dollar Healthy Hire Manitoba Program.  He says this is a new wage support to help private sector employers to reopen and encourage employees to get vaccinated and return to work.  He explains under the new program local employers will be able to apply for up to 50 thousand dollars in financial support and this support will help cover the wages of new employees or re-hired employees who can attest that they’ve been vaccinated or if their intention is to be vaccinated fully.  Eligible employers which include all permanent Manitoba based businesses, not for profits or registered charities that are operating in the province will receive a 50 percent wage subsidy for a maximum of ten employees with a maximum of five thousand dollars per employee.

The program will cover employees hired on or after June 10th ending October 15th.

More information and eligibility criteria on the Healthy Hire Manitoba Program will be posted online next week at www.manitoba.ca/covid19/programs.
