Vaccine Numbers Continue to be High in Manitoba.

Manitoba public health reported 104 net new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 6.4 percent.  They also reported two new deaths with one each in the Winnipeg and Southern health regions. Of the new cases 64 were in Winnipeg with lower numbers in other regions including 14 in Northern health.  Vaccine Implementation Task Force Member Johanu Botha says vaccine numbers are climbing.  He explained 1.2 million doses of vaccine have been given out to people to help protect them from COVID-19 adding they gave 100 thousand doses, the last of their 1.2 million, over a period of five days which is a new record for Manitoba.  Starting tomorrow all Manitobans are eligible to book second doses based on supply.

             

Of the 55,692 reported cases 1715 are active and 52,843 people have recovered with 200 in hospital and 52 in intensive care along with 12 in care outside the province.  There are 14 active cases reported in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district.
