New Case Numbers are Low in Both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 62 net new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 7.6 percent.  They also reported four new deaths with two in the Winnipeg region and one each in Interlake and Southern health regions. Of the new cases 33 are in Winnipeg with lower numbers in other regions including 15 in Northern health.  Of the total 55,467 reported cases 1860 are active and 52,478 individuals have recovered with 210 people in hospital and 57 in intensive care along with 14 in care outside the province.  There are 17 active cases reported in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district, 11 in Thompson Mystery Lake and 114 in The Pas, OCN, Kelsey district.

             

Meanwhile Saskatchewan health reports 36 new cases bringing the seven day average on new cases to 67 which is the lowest since last October.  Of the new cases 11 are in Regina with single digits in other zones including three in Far North East. Of the total 48,505 reported cases 639 are considered active and 47,301 people have recovered with 79 in hospital and 12 in intensive care. There are 14 active cases in Far North East. Just over one million people have received the vaccine in the province.
