A Saskatoon Man Has Drowned in Amisk Lake.

Just after seven o’clock Wednesday night Creighton RCMP received a report that three canoes had capsized on the south side of Amisk Lake with six males reported to be in the water.  They were crossing Amisk Lake when a storm moved through the area with large waves causing all three canoes to capsize.  The occupants stayed with the canoes and floated until they reached cell range and called 911 using a cell phone stored in a water proof container.

Creighton and Flin Flon RCMP, Ministry of Environment Conservation Officers and member of the public located the group around 8:30 using coordinates from the 911 call.  One of the males was unconscious when located and was transported to hospital and pronounced deceased.  He was 48 years old and from Saskatoon.  The other five were transported to hospital in Flin Flon for assessment.
