More Vaccines will Be Available Starting Next Week.

Manitoba public health reported 143 net new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 9.7 percent.  They also reported seven new deaths with four in Winnipeg and three in Southern health region.  Of the new cases 80 are in the Winnipeg region and 29 in Southern health with lower numbers in other regions including 18 in Northern health.  Of the total 54,739 reported cases 2799 are considered active, 50,829 individuals have recovered and 251 are in hospital with 61 in intensive care along with 22 in care outside the province. There are 20 active cases reported in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district.

             

Public health also announced people who received their first dose of vaccine on or before May 14th can book a second dose appointment and as of 11:45 tomorrow morning that will expand to May 18th.  They expect two large shipments of Moderna vaccine next week which will allow them to administer more than 20 thousand doses per day.
