At the Flin Flon City Council meeting last night Mayor Cal Huntley officially established Colleen McKee Day.  He stated whereas Colleen McKee served her community as Councillor for the years 2006 to 2020 and whereas she loved her community and was a key figure in organizing and volunteering in various events in the Flin Flon region and whereas after a short battle with cancer she died on November 11,2020 as Deputy Mayor and whereas Colleen will always be remembered for her love and dedication to her community now in honor of Colleen’s birthday and her love of Canada Day, I Cal Huntley Mayor of the City of Flin Flon by virtue of the powers conferred in my office do hereby proclaim July 1,2021 Colleen McKee Day in Flin Flon.

Huntley added if the Canada Day parade goes ahead as planned the City float will acknowledge Colleen McKee Day.
