Recoveries in Manitoba are Approaching 50 Thousand While Saskatchewan is Approaching a Vaccine Target.

Manitoba public health reported 485 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend bringing the five day test positivity rate to 10.8 percent. They also reported 12 new deaths with seven in Winnipeg region, four in Southern and one in Northern region. Of the new cases 265 are in Winnipeg region and 95 in Southern health with lower numbers in other regions including 47 in Northern health.  Of the total 54,357 reported cases 3305 are active, 49,952 individuals have recovered and 271 are in hospital with 58 in intensive care along with 26 in care in other provinces.  16 active cases are reported in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district.

             

Meanwhile Saskatchewan health reported 171 new cases over the weekend bringing the seven day average of new cases to 78.  They reported one death in the North West zone. Of the new cases there were 14 each in Saskatoon and South Central zones and 11 in Regina with lower numbers in other zones including zero in Far North East. Of the total 47,941 reported cases 809 are considered active, 46,577 people have recovered and 95 are in hospital with 20 in intensive care.  There are 33 active cases in Far North East.

              Just one percent more of Saskatchewan residents need to get their first COVID-19 vaccine shot in the coming weeks for the province to begin Step Three in the final phase of its Reopeing Roadmap on July 11th.
