New COVID Case Numbers are Up in the Northern Region of Manitoba While the Saskatchewan Average Continues to Drop.

Manitoba public health reported 247 net new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 11.1 percent.  They also reported six new deaths with three in the Winnipeg region, two in Southern health and one in Interlake Eastern health region.  Of the new cases 142 were in Winnipeg and 41 in Northern health with lower numbers in other regions. Of the total 53,650 reported cases36 hundred are considered active, 48,963 people have recovered and 286 are in hospital with 64 in intensive care along with 30 in care in other provinces. There are 21 active cases reported in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district.

            

Meanwhile Saskatchewan health reported 77 new cases bringing the seven day average of new cases to 79. They also reported one death in the Central East zone. Of the new cases 18 were in Saskatoon, 12 in South Central and 10 in North Central with single digits in other zones including one in Far North East.  Of the total 47,668 reported cases 902 are considered active, 46,213 people have recovered and 101 are in hospital with 19 in intensive care.  There are 38 active cases reported in Far North East.
