Active Cases are Up a Bit in Our District.

Manitoba Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Jazz Atwal announced 326 net new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 11.4 percent. He also announced four additional deaths with two in Winnipeg region and one each in Eastern and Southern health regions.  Of the new cases

203 were in the Winnipeg region, 38 in Southern health and 30 each in the Northern and Interlake Eastern health regions. There are 19 active cases in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district. Atwal says they are looking at public health orders but it’s too soon to announce changes as our day to day case numbers are getting better but our health care system is still struggling.  He says there are still too many people in hospital and there are too many people in ICUs both in Manitoba and out of the province struggling for their lives.

Atwal says people have to follow the current public health orders, stay home as much as possible and get fully vaccinated to get our numbers down.
