Lives Lost at a Residential School Were Remembered at the Flin Flon City Council Meeting Last Night.

Mayor Cal Huntley opened the meeting by stating our community mourns the 215 children whose remains were recently found outside a residential school in Kamloops.  He continued there are no words that can capture the horror and grief that this situation has brought to light.  My Council and my community stand with you in your time of mourning, sympathetic to your grief but knowing we can never understand the pain and suffering that you have experienced and continue experiencing. We are with you and we need to resolve this.

In discussion Councillors suggested people should make themselves aware of Indigenous issues and the effect of what occurred at residential schools on their lives.
