Vaccines Were Highlighted in the Saskatchewan COVID Update.

Saskatchewan public health reported they have surpassed 550 thousand doses of COVID-19 vaccine with more than 505 thousand first doses administered.  As of Monday anyone who is 85 and older or anyone who received their first dose before February 15th will be eligible to book their second dose.  They also confirmed one case related to a blood clot in a woman who had received the AstraZeneca vaccine in April.  She has received treatment and is recovering at home.

             

They reported 227 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the seven day average of new cases to 203.  There were two new deaths reported with one each in the South Central and Saskatoon zone.  Of the new cases 50 were in Saskatoon, 41 in Regina, 36 in South East and lower numbers in other zones including one in Far North East.  As of Thursday 8915 variants of concern cases have been identified with 11 having been reported in Far North East.
