Manitoba 150 announced last week Flin Flon will be receiving an outdoor mural as part of their Wall to Wall Mural and Culture Festival Rural Mural Tour.  They have now named the artist for the Flin Flon painting.  KC Adams is a Nehiyaw, Anishinaabe and British artist living in Winnipeg.  She graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and works in mediums that include sculpture, installation, drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, printmaking, kinetic and traditional art.  Adams has been in numerous solo, group and duo exhibitions and artist residencies.  She was awarded the Winnipeg Arts Council’s Making a Mark Award and Canada’s Senate 150 medal for her accomplishments with her Perception Photo Series.

Virtual meetings will be held with the community and the artist to begin the mural consultation process and once completed the mural will be installed during the summer.
