Saskatchewan is Preparing to Start their Re-opening Plan.

Saskatchewan public health reported 186 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the seven day average of new cases to 204. They also announced four additional deaths with three in the North West zone and one in South Central.  Of the new cases 53 are in Saskatoon, 46 in Regina and 29 in North Central with lower numbers in other zones including five in Far North East.  Of the total 43,481 reported cases 2064 are considered active and 40,911 people have recovered with 162 in hospital and 38 in intensive care.

             

As of Monday 2,514 variants of concern cases have been identified with eight in the Far North East.

             

More than 70 percent of Saskatchewan residents 40 and older have received their first shot surpassing the threshold for step one of the Re-opening Roadmap so the province has set May 30th as the target date for the start of step one which increases capacity indoors and outdoors, in restaurants and places of worship.
