Manitoba 150 has announced seven Manitoba communities including Flin Flon will receive outdoor murals in celebration of Manitoba’s history, culture, people and beauty.  This is being done through Manitoba 150 presented by CWB National Leasing in partnership with Wall to Wall Mural and Culture Festivals Rural Mural Tour. 

Each community is to pick an artist from a list of five submitted by Synonym Art Consultation who will create a design that will then be printed and safely installed in a public space. A local selection committee has made their choice from the list and is waiting for confirmation from Synonym.

Virtual meetings are being held with each community and artist to begin the mural consultation process and over the next few weeks the artist will develop mural mockups that reflect the community’s needs, interests, values and histories and create a mural design.  The murals will be installed throughout the summer and local photographers will be hired to document the installation.
