Getting Your Vaccine is Extremely Important to Everyone Around You.

Mayor Cal Huntley advised vaccine clinics are coming up in Flin Flon starting May 13th and there are still appointments available so he encourages people to get the shot and take advantage of these clinics open to anyone 18 and older.  He notes you not only protect yourselves you protect others and it moves us closer to getting back to normal.

Council agreed to submit a request to Municipal Relations for a budget extension to June 30th.  This is due to staff shortages, delayed year end reporting and additional unknowns caused by the current health restrictions.  Mayor Huntley says they’ve gone through changes in personnel and need additional time to prepare the budget and present it to the public.  It is usually submitted by the middle of May.

Council received a letter from Linda Clark regarding the state of the fitness trail on the Creekside section from the McIsaac School bridge to the closed road bridge towards Kingsway.  She says it is a muddy mess and no action was taken on her request for new fill last summer.  She notes children at McIsaac School as well as many others in the community use the trail even more so in these COVID times.  She asked for plans and a timeline for this section of the fitness trail. The request was referred to Engineering Services.
