Reported Cases of COVID-19 Have Topped 38 Thousand in Manitoba and Cases are Rising in Saskatoon.

Manitoba public health reported 217 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 7.5 percent.  They reported no additional deaths. Of the new cases 156 are in the Winnipeg region, 30 in Prairie Mountain health, 15 in Southern health,12 in Northern health region and five in Interlake Eastern.  Of the total 38,025 reported cases 2173 are considered active and 34,884 individuals have recovered.  A total of 1309 variants of concern cases have been reported so far with 559 active and 30 reported in the Northern Health region.

             

Meanwhile Saskatchewan public health reported 224 new cases this afternoon bringing the seven day average of new cases to 248. They also reported six new deaths with three in South East, two in Regina and one in South West zone. Of the new cases 70 are in Saskatoon, 43 in North West, 30 in Regina with lower numbers in other zones.  As of Monday 6301 variants of concern has been identified with Regina at 3513, Saskatoon 687 and South East 643 with much lower numbers in other zones. 186 people are in hospital with 42 in intensive care.
