At approximately 11:45 Monday night two RCMP officers heard strong rapid knocking at the detachment locked front door.  An officer opened the locked employee entrance and observed a man looking into the police vehicles and when he heard the door open he took an aggressive posture and ran towards the door which was closed before he gained access.  The officers exited from another door to attempt to apprehend the man.  They report he again advanced on the officers in an aggressive manner and did not follow the officers command to stop.  One officer deployed a Conducted Energy Weapon and they were able to gain control of the man who was taken into custody.

A 36 year old man from The Pas has been charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and he had a warrant for his arrest for failure to comply with a probation order.
