A Few Manitobans Continue to Face Fines for Private Gatherings.

The Manitoba government has provided an update on ongoing enforcement efforts to protect Manitobans from the spread of COVID-19.  At total of 121 warnings and 21 tickets were issued for the week of April 12th to 18th including fourteen 1296 dollar tickets to individuals for various offences, four 5 thousand dollar tickets to businesses and three 5150 dollar tickets to individuals under the federal quarantine act.  Eight of the fourteen 1296 dollar tickets issued were in relation to gatherings in private residences or outdoors.  They do note that most Manitobans are doing their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and are following the fundamentals.

             

Since enforcement efforts began in April 2020 a total of 3804 warnings and 1180 tickets have been issued resulting in more than 1.6 million dollars in fines to businesses and individuals.
