Public Health Orders Have Been Extended in Saskatchewan.

Due to increased COVID-19 transmission risks throughout Saskatchewan the Chief Medical Health Officer has extended all current public health orders until May 10th.  The orders will be reviewed at that time.  The current orders restrict all private indoor gatherings to immediate households only and limit outdoor gatherings to a maximum of ten people.  Physical distancing of at least two meters between households must be maintained.

             

Saskatchewan public health reported 249 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the seven day average of daily new cases to 247.  Of the new cases 102 are in Regina and 55 in Saskatoon with numbers in the teens or single digits in other zones including Far North East with two.  Of the total 38,651 reported cases 2640 are active and 35,546 people have recovered.  195 people are in hospital with 51 in intensive care.  As of Monday 5,057 variants of concern cases have been identified in Saskatchewan with the largest numbers in Regina at 2990 followed by South East with 500, Saskatoon with 497 and South Central with 404 and lower numbers in other zones.
