A Denare Beach Neighborhood Watch Committee had their first meeting last week.  The Village’s Protection Committee Chair Jean Champagne says following a community forum it was decided to form a committee to help make the community safer.  He says the guidelines of the Neighborhood Watch Committee are to form groups of 15 to 20 homes and look after one another, keep an eye out for their neighbor’s property and if there’s something that doesn’t look right just report it.  He says it goes back to the old days fifty years ago when everyone knew everyone on the block.

              The committee will meet again on April 29th and will develop plans for future meetings and how blocks of homes will move forward with plans for their neighborhoods.
