It Was a Busy Month for both the Fire Department and Ambulance Service.

At their meeting Tuesday night Flin Flon City Council received the Fire Chiefs report for March.  It indicated six calls to assist EMS with patients.  There were also two clean up events as a result of extensive damage to the second floor rooms and office rooms of the Fire Hall that occurred when the roof drains leaked water from the roof through to the main floor.

On March 9th they were called to a trailer fire on Tamarack Drive where they found a fire had completely engulfed a home. They cleared homes in the area and extinguished the fire.  They were later called back when a small flame was seen on the roof in the attic space.  They put it out and searched for any other possible fire spread.

They were called to two motor vehicle accidents.  On March 22nd there was a two vehicle collision on Green Street where they did traffic control until RCMP and EMS arrived and on the 26th a vehicle had left the road and rolled down an embankment just south of Channing.  They found both occupants on the side of the road with minor injuries.

The total fire loss for the month was estimated at 220 thousand dollars.
