Assistance Calls and False Alarms Kept the Fire Department Busy Last Month

At their meeting Tuesday night Flin Flon City Council received the Fire Chiefs report for February.  They had three calls to assist EMS with patients on February 3rd, 9th and 13th.  They also reported three false alarms. The first was a call on February 13th but while en route they were notified it was a false alarm.  On the 15th .a residential fire alarm on Hill Street had been activated.  Crews responded and found the owner had accidently set off the alarm.  And on the 28th a call was received from a bystander who saw smoke and flames from a home on Church Street. Crews responded and found that the homeowner had been using a wood stove and was properly venting it outside and no other flame or smoke was present.  The Fire Chief also reported the first group of the Northern Lights Firefighter training arrived and successfully completed training. Groups will be coming in three separate intakes of a week each.
