Vaccines Administered Have Topped 53 Thousand in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan health reported 146 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the seven day average of daily new cases to 157.  They also reported three additional deaths with one each in the North West, Regina and South Central zones.  Of the new cases32 were in Saskatoon, 30 in Regina, 26 in North Central and 16 in North West with lower numbers in other zones including nine in Far North East.

             

Of the total 27,245 reported cases 1582 are considered active, 25,298 individuals have recovered and 172 are in hospital with 19 in intensive care.

             

The number of vaccines administered in the province has reached 53,030.  They remain in Phase One of vaccine delivery targeting residents and staff of long term and personal care homes, residents 70 years and older and residents 50 and older in remote and northern Saskatchewan.  Eligible populations will be contacted directly to receive their vaccinations.
