Food Has Been Shared with Northern Babies.

Harvest Manitoba reports they continue to see a great need in our communities and often demand is greater than available food supply. Earlier this month in partnership with the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, Gardewine and The North West Company they delivered nearly 16 thousand pounds of baby food to northern First Nations communities in Manitoba.

Each community received special Harvest Hampers containing organic baby food pouches, jarred baby food and liquid baby formula.  They note these items and other nutritious fresh foods are often inaccessible to northern and First Nations Communities in Manitoba due to transport costs so they were excited to be able to feed just over 24 thousand babies that they could not normally feed.

Assembly Grand Chief Arlen Dumas stated many families have experienced challenges during this pandemic especially with food security and they are pleased to be able to partner to ensure families receive baby food to help keep little ones healthy and safe.
