The Flin Flon School Board is looking for community input on a proposed change affecting our K to 8 Schools. They note following their Strategic Plan, academic success, student engagement and mental wellness played a huge role in their discussions. Now public input is being requested through two town halls and a public survey. Currently Ruth Betts Community School would remain a K to 8 school and Ecole McIsaac School would also remain a K to 8 school and the only dual track English and French immersion school. The alternative proposed would see Ruth Betts become a K to 3 school while McIsaac would become a 4 to 8 school with both being dual track.
Details can be found on a poster on the School Division website www.ffsd.mb.ca or their Facebook page. Town halls will be held virtually this Thursday at 6:30 and February 23rd at 7:30 and the link can be found on their website calendar. A public survey will be posted there as well from February 19th to 28th or a paper copy can be obtained by calling 204-687-3424.
