The Red Dress Project is Going Virtual This Year.

The Women’s Resource Centre is holding their annual Red Dress Project Sunday afternoon.  The Centre’s Cindy Onabigon says the live streaming event will take place at Eagle Rose Healing and Teaching Lodge to honor Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and families.  She explains they’re going to start with an opening prayer from Elder Margaret Head Steppan and then they want to do the Red Dress presentation so that’s where they will be going live with all the red dresses and doing a ceremony around the dresses.  She continues after that she’s invited a guest speaker and she’s waiting to hear from her then they’ll also be doing some drumming and presenting murdered and missing Indigenous women from Manitoba.

The event can be seen on the Women’s Resource Centre Facebook page starting at three Sunday afternoon.  They also have a call out for Red Dress and Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls pictures of support and you can learn how to take part also on their Facebook page.
