Average Numbers of COVID-19 Cases Are Holding Fairly Steady in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 162 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend bringing the five day test positivity rate to 6.1 percent.. They also reported eight additional deaths with seven in Winnipeg and one in the Northern region.  Of the new cases 67 were in Winnipeg and 54 in the Northern region with lower numbers in other regions. Of the total 30,237 reported cases 3265 are active, 26,135 individuals have recovered and 263 are in hospital with 38 in intensive care.  The number of active cases in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district is listed at three.  On Saturday on outbreak was declared in the dialysis unit at St. Anthony’s General Hospital in The Pas.

            

Saskatchewan health reported 458 new cases bringing the seven day average of daily new cases to 220.  They also reported seven additional deaths with two each in North West and Regina zones and one each in Far North West, South East and Far North Central zones. Of the new cases 110 were in Regina, 103 in Saskatoon, 58 in North West with lower numbers in other zones including 26 in Far North East with the number of active cases in that zone listed at 160.  Of the total 25, 403 reported cases 2363 are considered active, 22,701 individuals have recovered and 211 are in hospital with 28 in intensive care.
