Mental Health, Wellness and Recovery Minister Audrey Gordon has announced the government has awarded the tender to the Womens Health Clinic to develop, implement and co-ordinate a provincial pregnancy and infant loss program in Manitoba.  They are investing more than 200 thousand dollars for the program.  It will provide individual and group counseling and support to assist individuals and families who are dealing with complex grief and mental health issues associated with the loss of a child during pregnancy and infancy which is the first year of life which can include increased risk of depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use disorder and other mental health issues.

The Women’s Health Clinic will develop, implement and co-ordinate the program which in addition to providing counseling and support will deliver education, training and access to the program’s services across the province.  The target is to serve a minimum of two hundred clients per year.
