The Number of Deaths Dominate the Manitoba and Saskatchewan COVID-19 Updates.

Manitoba public health reports 132 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 8.7 percent.  They also report an additional eight deaths with six in Winnipeg and one each in Interlake Eastern and Southern health.  Of the new cases 61 are in the Northern health region and 29 in Winnipeg with lower numbers in other regions. Of the total 29,128 reported cases 3456 are active, 24,851 individuals have recovered, 277 are in hospital with 37 in intensive care and deaths now total 821.  An outbreak has been declared at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home in The Pas which has moved to the critical or red zone.

             

Meanwhile Saskatchewan reports 244 new cases bringing the seven day average to 244.  They also reported eleven additional deaths with four in Regina, three in Saskatoon, two in the Far North East and one each in North Central and North West.  Of the new cases 70 are in Saskatoon, 54 in Regina and 25 in the Far North West with lower numbers in other zones including 14 in the Far North East.  Of the 23,038 total cases reported 2478 cases are active, 20,275 have recovered and 208 are in hospital with 37 in intensive care.
