The Manitoba Vaccine Program Plan is to Expand to the General Population in March.

Manitoba Public Health reported 94 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 9.6 percent.  They also reported four additional deaths with two each in Winnipeg health region and Southern health.  Of the new cases 44 are in Winnipeg and 43 in Northern health with single digit numbers in other health regions.  Of the total 28,996 reported cases 3456 are considered active, 24,727 individuals have recovered and 281 are in hospital with 36 in intensive care with deaths totaling 813.

             

Medical Lead for the Vaccine Implementation Task Force Dr. Joss Reimer says the province plans to offer vaccines to a broader range of health care workers and all Manitobans over 95 by March and the minimum age will quickly be reduced by one year increments and people in their 50s could be eligible by April or May.
