Saskatchewan Public Health Orders Have Been Extended While Manitoba New Cases Have Dropped Below 100.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe reported this afternoon the current public health orders in the province are working so they will be extended by three weeks until February 19th.  Public health reported 232 new cases of COVID-19 as well as 14 additional deaths with six in Saskatoon, three in Regina and two in North Central with one each in three other zones.  Of the new cases 47 were in Saskatoon, 46 in Regina and 45 in North West with lower numbers in other zones including 4 in Far North East.  Of the 22,646 reported cases 2665 are considered active and 19,219 have recovered.

             

Meanwhile Manitoba public health reported 92 new cases with 41 in Winnipeg and 36 in Northern health region with lower numbers in other regions including zero in Interlake Eastern.  They also reported five additional deaths with four in Winnipeg and one in Prairie Mountain.  Of the total 28,902 reported cases 3492 are active and 24,601 have recovered.  The number of active cases in Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage Sherridon is listed at 12. Starting Friday Manitobans who return home from travelling anywhere outside the province including western Canada will have to self isolate for two weeks.  There are exemptions for people who regularly travel to and from communities near the border for essential purposes.
