The Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce has Written to Provincial and Local Governments and Other Officials About Code Red Restrictions.

The letter states the Chamber is standing against the continued Code Red restrictions imposed on all communities in the Northern Region announced January 19th. They are adding their voice to the calls for change from other northern Chambers noting after countless meetings, calls and conversations over the past months and with their connections through both the Chamber network and government they have repeatedly expressed their concerns over the broad use of restrictions for the entire Northern Region. The letter notes they do not agree with the use of existing health region borders to administer these rules with no recognition for the actual state of the pandemic in communities separated by several hours of travel distance adding prolonging the harshest restrictions in these areas without any additional aid programs does irreparable harm to small businesses and community members.

They conclude we have done the difficult work for months in keeping the virus in check in our communities and believe we have earned the opportunity to get back to business safely and with all precautions in place.
