Homelessness and Hiring Were Part of Last Nights Flin Flon City Council Meeting.

At their meeting Council received a letter from Flin Flon MLA Tom Lindsey on homeless people in our community.  It notes last year it was estimated there were approximately 100 homeless people in Flin Flon.  He asked if Council would be interested in attending a Zoom or some sort of distance meeting to discuss how to make a homeless shelter happen in our community.  He added they hope to get a committee established with many stakeholders interested in exploring the opportunity to help the individuals who are homeless including if they require short term or long term solutions and services needed.  Council or any other groups interested can contact Tom Lindsey at 204-687-3246 or email flinflon1@yourmanitoba.ca.

Council referred to the Finance Committee a request from the Flin Flon Station Museum Board for a renewal of the grant of 15 thousand dollars from the city for the fiscal year 2020-21

Council also approved the agreement to hire Bernardo Pasco as Director of Works and Operations for the City effective February 1st.  It was noted he has an engineering technology background as well as with sewer and water services.
