Saskatchewan COVID Case Numbers Can Come Down.

Saskatchewan health reported 309 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the daily average of new cases to 300.  They also reported six additional deaths with two each in Regina and South East zones and one each in Central West and Saskatoon zones. Of the new cases 69 are in Saskatoon, 43 in Regina, 30 in North Central, 29 in North West with lower numbers in other zones including 18 in the Far North East.

Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab says you have to follow public health orders to see restrictions lifted.  He notes our current measures if they are complied with universally are sufficient to bring case numbers down, we saw that happen very dramatically in the middle of December and even now whenever we see transmissions its almost always lack of compliance with current measures.

Of the 20,871 reported cases 4156 are considered active, 16,490 individuals have recovered and 207 are in hospital with 31 in intensive care.
