New Covid Numbers Continue to go Down in Manitoba.

Manitoba Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin reported 133 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon with a five day test positivity rate of ten percent.  He also reported three additional deaths with one each in the Winnipeg, Prairie Mountain and Northern health regions.  He explains today’s numbers are encouraging, they definitely want to see this trajectory continue and these numbers are a testament to the hard work of Manitobans following the very tough restrictions that are in place but necessary and we see some of the benefits from that at this point.  He adds we’re certainly not out of the woods but they are seeing the trajectory that they wanted to see.

Of the new cases 47 are in the Winnipeg region, 34 in Northern and 28 in Prairie Mountain region with smaller numbers in other regions.  Of the 26,450 reported cases 3414 are considered active, 22,295 individuals have recovered and 316 are in hospital with 37 in intensive care.
