Concerns Over High COVID Numbers Continue in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 221 new case of COVID-19 this afternoon with a five day test positivity rate of 10.1 percent.  They also reported nine additional deaths with five in Winnipeg, three in Prairie Mountain and one in the Northern health region. Of the new cases 97 are in the Winnipeg region and 69 in the Northern health region with lower numbers in other regions.  Of the total 25,963 confirmed cases 4582 are active, 20,655 have recovered, 315 are in hospital with 35 in intensive care and related deaths total 726.

             

Saskatchewan reported 336 new cases this afternoon bringing the seven day average of daily cases to 262.  They also reported seven additional deaths with four in Regina, two in South East and one in the North Central zone.  Of the new cases 57 are in Saskatoon, 56 are in Regina, 52 in Far North East, 46 in North West, 41 in North Central and lower numbers in other zones.  Of the 17,474 reported cases 3,053 are active, 14,237 individuals have recovered and 180 people are in hospital with 26 in intensive care.
