A COVID-19 Outbreak is Over in Thompson While More Vaccines are Coming to Northern Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 167 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon with a five day test positivity rate of 10.4 percent.  They also reported ten additional deaths with eight in Winnipeg health region and one each in Interlake Eastern and Northern health regions.  Of the new cases 109 are in the Winnipeg region and 31 in the Northern region with lower numbers in the other health regions.  Of the total 25,541 reported cases 4460 are considered active, 20,376 individuals have recovered, 329 are in hospital with 37 in intensive care and related deaths now total 705.  An outbreak at the Thompson General Hospital MSP ward has been declared over.

            

 Saskatchewan health reported 277 new cases this afternoon.  They also reported nine additional deaths with three in Regina, two each in Saskatoon and South East and one each in North Central and Central West zones.  Of the new cases 70 are in Regina, 44 in Saskatoon and 32 in Far North East zone with lower numbers in other zones.  Of the total 16,804 reported cases 2893 are active, 13,737 individuals have recovered, 172 are in hospital with 29 in intensive care and the seven day average of daily new cases is 233.  The government also announced all remaining Moderna doses received to date will be allocated to the Far North East and North East zones to be shipped as soon as possible with priority given to residents and staff of long term care and personal care homes and front line workers.
