Manitobans Continue to Face Fines and Warnings.

The Manitoba government has issued an update on enforcement efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  They report a total of 279 warnings and 55 tickets were issue for the week of December 28th to January 3rd including 49 – 1296 dollar tickets to individuals for various offences and six tickets to individuals for failure to wear a mask in indoor public places. They advise that 41 of the 55 – 1296 dollar tickets were in relation to gatherings in private residences.

             

Since enforcement efforts began in April a total of 1962 warnings and 672 tickets have been issued resulting in more than 984 thousand dollars in fines to businesses and individuals.  In addition to the 298 dollars fine for not wearing a mask in indoor public places fine amounts for violating public health orders have been set at 1296 dollars to individuals and five thousand dollars for tickets issued to corporations.  Manitobans are reminded to adhere to all current public health orders and stay home.
