They report that on Sunday, November 22nd, the Northern Health Region became aware that a staff member from the Flin Flon Personal Care Home had tested positive for COVID-19. On the same day, we became aware that a staff member from the Northern Lights Manor (Flin Flon) had tested positive for COVID-19.
Public Health declared an outbreak in both facilities and immediately began the process of contact tracing and management of the cases. As a precaution, all residents of both care homes were offered COVID19 testing with 98% of the residents have been tested. To date, no residents have tested positive for COVID19 at either location.
As well, as part of our Outbreak protocol, the following additional measures have been implemented in both facilities to help stop any spread of the illness.
· Visitor restrictions has been implemented.
· We have suspended admissions to the facility.
· Staff are being screened daily to see if testing is required.
· All staff who are in contact with residents will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) to further prevent any potential transmission between staff members and residents.
