Manitobans Have to Work to Reduce the Number of Deaths in the Province.

Manitoba Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin reported this afternoon 438 new cases of COVID-19. He also reported nine additional deaths with five in the Winnipeg region including a man in his 20s and one each in Southern Health, Prairie Mountain, Interlake Eastern and Northern Health which was a woman in her 50s. He said on Tuesday he had to announce the death of a woman in her 30s and today a man in his 20s and all these announcements are more than numbers, these are people, a young man and there’s certainly some underlying conditions but this is tragic to see all these listings everyday now and we need to continue to be vigilant to stop days like these going forward.

Of the new cases 247 are in Winnipeg, 114 in Southern Health with lower numbers in other regions including 28 in Northern Health Region.  Of the total 12,919 reported cases 7861 are considered active, 4851 have recovered and 281 are in hospital.
