Fires and Motor Vehicle Accidents Were Part of the Fire Chiefs Report.

At their meeting Tuesday night Flin Flon City Council accepted the Fire Chiefs Report for October.  There were seven incidents reported with three for fire calls.  On October 25th they were called to Walmart where they found a small fire had occurred in McDonalds with workers using dry chem extinguishers to put out the fire before crews arrived.  On the 26th they received a report of smoke and found heavy smoke and fire in a basement on Hapnot Street and also on the 26th a smoke detector resulted in a false alarm on Tamarack Drive.

             

On October 9th they were called to a three vehicle collision on Green Street with no injuries, on the 13th to a motor vehicle collision south of Cranberry Portage but were recalled en-route and on the17th to a vehicle that rolled into the ditch on Hapnot Street due to very icy conditions but no injuries. They also assisted EMS on a call on October 10th.

             

Fire fighters received training on new Jaws of Life techniques and on new fire fighting foam products.
