Saskatchewan is Developing Plans for a COVID Vaccine.

Saskatchewan Health reported this afternoon 98 new cases of COVID-19.  Of the new cases 25 are in Regina, 14 in South Central, 12 each in North Central and North West and 10 in Saskatoon with single digits in other zones including Far North East with 3.  Health Minister Paul Merriman says the pandemic will only end when we have a safe and effective vaccine and the federal government is expected to receive vaccines early in 2021.  He notes Saskatchewan will receive approximately 180 thousand and Sask Health and SHA are developing a plan to deliver the vaccine as swiftly and effectively as possible.  He says the vaccine will be distributed on a priority basis expecting they will be vaccinating seniors and front line workers first.

He adds until then we must continue to follow health orders and recommendations.

Of the 5652 cases reported 2066 are considered active and 3553 have recovered with 83 in hospital.
