Her Contributions to Council and the Community Will be Missed.

At the Flin Flon City Council Zoom Meeting last night Mayor Cal Huntley paid tribute to Deputy Mayor Colleen McKee who passed away last week. He noted she has been at his right hand for six years….

“There was never a dull moment with Councillor McKee around and I just want to say from the bottom of my heart she really is going to be missed.  She didn’t hesitate to challenge anyone particularly me but we had some very good offside conversations about many things, some personal and some certainly to do with the community but she was a good friend and she will be terribly missed and she will be terribly missed by the community.”

Fellow Councillors related their personal experiences working with Colleen on Council and in the community noting they will miss her. A by-election date will be determined once the COVID code red is lifted in the province.

Later in the meeting Council awarded the tender for the demolition of the Flin Flon Aqua Centre to Rakowski Cartage and Wrecking in the estimated amount of 113 thousand dollars. They will be starting the process as soon as this week.
